We Won ! Crowned World Champion Cornish Pasty Company 2020
There was only one winner …and we did it ! Officially the Best Cornish Pasty
Our Traditional Cornish Pasty was crowned as the overall winner, Cornish Pasty Company Champion, at Eden this year.
This is highly competitive Championship bringing together all of the major Pasty Companies from across Cornwall, as well as entrants with pasty makers from across the Globe.
This year saw competitors entering from USA, Canada and even Portugal and Mexico.
A Traditional Cornish Pasty has to be ‘Made in Cornwall‘ and made to an exacting standards and traditional ingredients.
The rules of what constitutes a genuine Cornish Pasty are found on the Cornish pasty Associations web site http://cornishpastyassociation.co.uk/about-the-pasty/
BUT – Not all Cornish Pasties are made equal!…Our Winning Cornish Pasty is made with British Red Tractor Steak, made with a higher meat content to the minimum (we put 17% British skirt, steak in ours) and including potatoes, swede and onions along with our unique seasoning blend. We then hand-crimp the pasties in a shortcrust pastry.
Winning the Championships was a fantastic accolade to the quality of ingredients and our ethos of supporting local farmers throughout Cornwall. – We are also Soil Association Members and ensure animal welfare along with ensuring only sustainable palm oils and no nasties go into our pasties.
