I thought these would be right up my street but sadly I found them a little lacklustre. Whilst they’re a very generous size and I have to say, well filled the filling didn’t really have much flavour and I found it a little bit mushy and lacking any texture. Whilst the curry is nice it tasted sweet and coconut esq which isn’t what I was expecting. Due to the richness of the filling and the size of the pie it became a little bit overwhelming. The pastry is good quality and you definitely can’t tell its vegan as it tastes like any regular pastry. They cooked well and went crisp but due to the top being flaky even when baked lightly its difficult to eat and very messy + a little too crisp. The base of the pie was good though and wasn’t soggy which is a major plus. When they arrived the tops on all of them had all come off and meant it was very difficult to navigate getting them out of the foil. I will ad though that whilst they weren’t for me or my personal taste my husband did love them and ate the rest of them cold for his lunches.

Hi Maisy – Yes they are a big pie and due to it being all plant-based the filling is softer in texture. many people enjoy these as more of a meal rather than a ‘hand-held’ or grab & go. There are 2 vegan pastries we use for the pie, the pie case being a short-crust pastry and the top a puff pastry. Great tat you found these to taste ‘like any normal pastry’ as we use a sustainable palm oil to help with flavours.
So pleased your husband enjoyed them.. Thanks for the feedback.
